Alta Mogiana
Alta Mogiana has produced unique, sweet, and full-bodied coffees for generations. The region sits along the northern border of São Paulo state, in one of Brazil’s most tradition-rich coffee landscapes. In 2013, it also became one of the first Brazilian coffee regions to earn an Indication of Origin designation. In other words, this is a coffee with pedigree.
The Alta Mogiana Difference
That designation matters. To carry the Alta Mogiana name, coffees must meet strict criteria for altitude, cup score, and approved production and storage standards. As a result, every lot we select from the region arrives with quality built in. Our Alta Mogiana regional blend celebrates that consistency. We source from dedicated growers, then roast to highlight the region’s signature profile: gentle sweetness, a creamy body, and easy-drinking balance.
What’s in the Cup
Expect notes of chocolate, nuts, and mild yellow fruits, with hints of stone fruit throughout. The body is creamy and full, while the sweetness stays gentle from first sip to finish. Consequently, this is a crowd-pleaser — bold enough for espresso, smooth enough for your everyday drip. It also makes an excellent introduction to how distinct Brazil’s growing regions can taste.
For brewing, this coffee is wonderfully forgiving. Try it as a drip or French press for maximum body, or pull it as espresso for a chocolate-forward shot with lasting sweetness. It is also our go-to recommendation for milk drinks, since chocolate and cream pair naturally. Start with a 1:16 ratio for filter methods and adjust to taste.
