About Fazenda Esperança

The farm sits at 1,200 meters in Campos Altos. This high microregion belongs to the Cerrado Mineiro, Brazil’s first Denomination of Origin coffee region. Elevation matters here. Cooler air slows ripening, so the cherries build more sugar and more nuance before harvest. Afterward, Deyvid processes the coffee as a natural. The cherries dry whole, and the slow fermentation inside the fruit amplifies the bright character of Catuaí 99. His precision makes the difference. It is the same craft that earned his Toca da Raposa lot first place at the Best of Cerrado.

What’s in the Cup

Expect brown sugar sweetness layered with peach and lemon. Then come ripe berry and tropical fruit notes, plus a tinge of red-wine acidity. The finish is smooth and refreshing. It is bright without being sharp — an easy introduction to fruit-forward naturals. Consequently, this coffee is a joy as a pour-over, where the fruit really sparkles. It also makes a vivid iced coffee. For filter brewing, start with a 1:16 ratio and adjust to taste.
