Sul de Minas
Sul de Minas is the heart of worldwide coffee production. This vast region of southern Minas Gerais contains many microclimates and smaller coffee territories, including Mantiqueira de Minas and Campo das Vertentes. Our Sul de Minas regional blend captures its classic character: chocolate, hazelnut, and a bright touch of grapefruit. It is the taste that made Brazil famous.
The Sul de Minas Region
Few places on Earth are as devoted to coffee. Entire cities here — Varginha and Poços de Caldas among them — grew up around the coffee industry, and the region remains a global engine of production today. Yet size is only half the story. In recent years, the specialty coffee movement has encouraged growers to identify smaller microregions within Sul de Minas, highlighting unique terroirs one valley at a time. In other words, this is both Brazil’s coffee heartland and one of its most exciting frontiers. Our blend draws on that abundance, selecting lots that show the region at its balanced best.
What’s in the Cup
Chocolate leads, smooth and familiar. Then hazelnut adds a toasty, nutty middle. Finally, a flash of grapefruit brightens the finish and keeps the cup lively. Consequently, this blend covers every base: an easy everyday drip, a rich French press, and a balanced, chocolate-forward espresso. It also takes milk gracefully. For filter brewing, start with a 1:16 ratio and adjust to taste.
