Casa Brasil Coffee Brewing Guidelines:

The Grind
A burr grinder is best as blade grinders often result in inconsistent particle size.
Grind only what you need for each brew, and grind immediately prior to brewing to ensure freshness.
Water
Use clean-tasting filtered water: bad water makes bad coffee.
Do not use distilled water as particles in the water are necessary to adhere to and extract the coffee solubles.
Brewing temperature should be 195º to 205º F.
Cleanliness
Coffee oils can remain on equipment and become rancid over time. Clean your equipment regularly!

Aeropress Brewing

The Aeropress is a tremendous way to brew coffee. Originally designed and marketed as a means of producing espresso, it has become a popular way to produce a cup of traditional brewed coffee. It combines the benefits of full immersion brewing with the clarity and flavor characteristics of coffee brewed through a paper filter. The Aeropress is also small, lightweight, and compact, making it our go-to for backpacking, camping, and traveling.

French Press Brewing

The French Press: It’s as popular as it is misunderstood, and even neglected. Although the French Press has fallen out of favor as the go-to brew method amongst coffee nerds and coffee bars, it still holds a special place in our hearts (and in most kitchen’s, too).

Kalita Wave Brewing

The Kalita Wave is currently the most popular brewing device amongst both professionals and aficionados. It is visually similar to a v60, but features a flat bottom and ridged filter. The shapes of the brewer and the filter help to promote even and consistent extraction.
